Always when I should be sleeping

I just had an absolutely awesome idea for a Victorian skating outfit, but it has to wait because a) it's 5am and b) I need to finish my outfit for the pumpkin tea next weekend first. But I have high hopes for this outfit!

And on a related Victorian skating note, my mom actually had a really fun suggest for a possible second place we could go skating. In NYC in Bryant Park there's a holiday that runs probably sometime in November to the end of January or so, and right in the middle they build a skating rink. How much fun would that be, to go skating in Bryant Park in full Victorian gear? My mom even volunteered to play photographer for us if anyone would be interested~ Post New Years would probably be better, if only to avoid the massive holiday crowds. Anyone interested? The market also has lots of amazing little shops and things. I got some beautiful jewelry there last year.

Now that I've slept~

Okay, so when I was at Jomar a couple weeks ago and got all that fabric, including the plaid silk that went to Robin, I also randomly grabbed some "silk" faille. ( I'm pretty sure the cords are cotton, but I'm choosing to believe the warp thread is silk. It has a really nice sheen and hand to it regardless.) but for $5.99 a yard I didn't overly care what the fiber was, to be honest.

The best part? It's a dead on match for the plaid taffeta, 3 yards of which I kept for myself, knowing I could find some use for it somewhere. And I have!

Let's face it- if I was actually trying to match the plaid to a solid, I never would've managed it.

And here's the plan for it! )
