I just had an absolutely awesome idea for a Victorian skating outfit, but it has to wait because a) it's 5am and b) I need to finish my outfit for the pumpkin tea next weekend first. But I have high hopes for this outfit!

And on a related Victorian skating note, my mom actually had a really fun suggest for a possible second place we could go skating. In NYC in Bryant Park there's a holiday that runs probably sometime in November to the end of January or so, and right in the middle they build a skating rink. How much fun would that be, to go skating in Bryant Park in full Victorian gear? My mom even volunteered to play photographer for us if anyone would be interested~ Post New Years would probably be better, if only to avoid the massive holiday crowds. Anyone interested? The market also has lots of amazing little shops and things. I got some beautiful jewelry there last year.

What a fun idea! The Bryant Park shops are AWESOME, and they're already up! Not sure about the rink yet, but if not now then soon. I think Victorian skating sounds like A LOT of fun! I would totally join you if I had any free time to make a costume! :*(

Are the shops open or just set up? And I'm guessing once it gets cold enough to sustain the ice they'll set the rink up...

You should try! Don't you have a Victorian outfit? I say as long as it doesn't have a train you should be fine....

Bryant Park would definitely be a prettier backdrop than the rink in Philly! I just checked it out, though, and my only thing is that it doesn't look like it's open Sundays? I was planning on doing a Sunday just because that's my only day off!

No, they're open Sundays too. Just not as late in the evening as Fridays and Saturdays.

Reading comprehension, I has it! Shall ask the locals' opinions, since Philly is close to most of the people I know are interested, but, again, Bryant Park! Pretty!

It's really pretty there, especially when it gets dark and all the shops are lit up~ And if we have 10 or more people there's a group VIP rate where we can schedule a skating time for presumably less than $25, which is the single person online pre-book price, which includes skate rental too. Otherwise it's first come first serve, IE wait in line till our turn, and free to get in, plus $14 for the skates. Not sure how long people are allowed to skate for, but I'd imagine maybe an hour? Which would be quite long enough, I'm sure.
