another update? only days later? I must be snowed in again
With my dress 99% done, and only a buttonhole left to be made, I started on my pelisse today. I'm basing it on the striped redingote in the KCI collection. The bodice is all assembled now, and I need to dig out some scrap silk to line the sleeves so I can put those in tonight, then probably tomorrow I'll put the skirts on.
And because that's not all I did, have a couple bonnet pictures under the cut.
The feathers are only pinned on at the moment. I need to put a band on, as well as ties, and I don't have enough of the light yellow silk left to do both, but none of the colors of silk I have at the moment are quite inspiring me. What I really want is some orangey-yellow to match the bright colored feathers. Maybe I can find some ribbon at Joann's or Hobby Lobby for temporary use until I can find silk the right color.
