miss_philomena: (yellow court face)

I think I changed my mind

Back in September, I had the urge to make a court gown, but that urge didn't last long. Today however, I found a 1798 plate that I really like. For a court gown, it's really simple, but it's yellow and pretty. Though again I'm back at the problem of not being able to find a buttercup yellow taffeta.

I'm not including this in my list of stuff for 2009, because I have absolutely no idea when I'll be working on it.

Depending on what exactly the taffeta is made of if you get it in white like if its not synthetic I can hand dye it...

I wouldn't mind but theres a margin of error with the color once I put the setting chemicals in.

But I wouldn't mind doing it. I love dying fabric and watching the fabric's color change.

And I already have a nice selection of dyes.

Let me know if you ever want anything dyed. I'd be happy to accommodate you. (my school provides all the extra chemicals so use me while i'm still at mica and have endless resources)

You're in the NYC area, right? Not too long ago I saw some delicious buttercup yellow silk taffeta. I think it was at Paron Fabrics in the 50% off room, and there was a good quantity of it left. Can't confirm it is still there, but good luck in your search! I think that dress is absolutely darling.
