I second that, and especially since it was she who helped instill your love of Poe.
My own mom is actually thinking of doing a few reenacting events w/me in the spring(health permiting;she's 67 and has numerous health problems and rhumatoid arthritis). My mom also instilled historical love in me( her period was more the ACW,as we've an ancestor who fought it it,but it was from her book collection that I started reading) and has always felt she was "born in the wrong century". I'm looking @ starting her with easy one-day events that are fairly local.
A member of my unit approximately her size has offered to lend her clothes till I get more experienced @ sewing. the only modification she might have to make is to forgo the stays, since she has a lot of back problems(though the supportive stays might actually be good for her).
It sounds like a wonderful time; be sure to take pics!
