Finally posted my Dress U pics! It's a combination of my own and ones stolen from others.

I don't have pictures of Friday night and Saturday day for myself, but I did get the rest, so here's the quick list of what I wore:

Saturday night: the Titanic Dinner:
This dress was slightly stress inducing, and that was before I even started sewing. And here's why: I decided I wanted to do an embroidered sheer overgown style gown, so what better way to do that than with a sari? So after it was linked in an article on Your Wardrobe Unlock'd, I went to Utsav Fashion, which makes saris new to order. In early April I picked out this sari and I thought all was well and good with the world. Then May 10th I got an email from them saying the sari I ordered was damaged in production and I needed to pick out a new sari because they weren't making that style anymore. Cue panic and a near moment of crying. Back onto their website I went, and settled on this sari. It arrived on May 23rd, basically a week before Dress U. The design on it was so perfect though that all I really needed to do with the net was cut it apart and just arrange the pieces how I liked best.

So here is the result: A green net overdress and black silk charmeuse underdress, worn with vintage black kid opera gloves, and a beaded Juliet cap.

Mom picture! (And one of the full front shots)
It's a tad too long in the front, so you can see where I pinned up a tuck under the overskirt. I think what I'll do for future wear is some pleats to create a bit of draping on the center front and side seams.

Sunday morning for the Let Them Eat Crepes breakfast I went simple and wore my chemise gown and linen overrobe, nothing new there. It was an easy, lazy morning.

In the afternoon for the Mad Hatter Tea I had my stripy natural form gown, which had it's own set of trials and tribulations, when I discovered a week before Dress U that the bodice didn't close over my bust, but I went for a quick and easy fix with the stomacher/false vest front. Now I'm actually toying with the idea of taking the red buttons off and covering that with a shirred panel, though I'm not sure if I want to go with the yellow taffeta or the green striped taffeta. Something to play with at a later date.

Anyway, the green stripy natural form gown, worn with the metallic green leather hat I bought last year at Costume Con:

Sunday evening was Tiaras and Jampagne, and I pulled out my Strawberries and Cream gown from Costume Con last year, though this year I taped up the overskirt so it looked better. Add a ton of fake hair, some feathers and a tiara and I was ready to go~

And that's Dress U for me!

Thanks! I think it's my favorite dress of the weekend.
